#TCMBestof2021: Six Different Winners in TCM Fan Favorite Short Track Awards

Even with tracks and series navigating COVID-19, fans and teams still had plenty of action to follow in 2021.
During the second round of voting in the TCM Best of Racing Awards for 2021, fans had the chance to cast their votes for their favorite tracks, series, events and more. The results yielded six different tracks receiving awards and a return to the top for the top touring series in Atlantic Canada.
Here are the results from the Fan Favorite Short Track Awards for 2021.
TCM Fan Favorite Touring Series: East Coast International Pro Stock Tour
For the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour, this is the seventh win in eight seasons in the TCM Fan Favorite Short Track Series.
After only contesting two races in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and missing out on the Fan Favorite Short Track Series Award, the Tour returned to a full time schedule in 2021 and crowned a champion for the 20th time in Series history. While the Series weathered several COVID related storms with restrictions and canceled races, they still produced nine races between three tracks. Craig Slaunwhite was able to capture the Tour championship for the first time in his career, fueled by three victories in the middle of the year.
The East Coast International Pro Stock Tour cruised to the win over the Maritime League of Legends Tour, who returned to competition in 2021 after sitting idle due to COVID in 2020. The margin of victory was over 150 votes. The Atlantic Modified Tour, who won the fan vote in 2020, finished fourth this season.

After several events in 2020, the track returned to the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series in 2021 with Jason Groves claiming the Track and Provincial NASCAR titles.
The track contests oval action in four divisions including the Sportsman, Legends, Hobby Stock and Bandoleros with nine total oval events this past year.

TCM Fan Favorite “Major Event” of 2021: Atlantic Oliver Tire 200 In Memory of Jim Hallahan at Scotia Speedworld
For the first time, a 250-lap Pro Stock feature did not win the TCM Fan Favorite Major Event Award.
Scotia Speedworld picked up the award, their fifth TCM Award and first in the event category, for the Atlantic Oliver Tire 200 in Memory of Jim Hallahan. The event anchored by a 200-lap feature is typically reserved for the finale of the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour but due to scheduling it served as the penultimate round in 2021. The race was dedicated to the memory of Jim Hallahan, who the racing community lost in December 2020.
Ashton Tucker picked up his first career victory at the track and first Tour win for himself and the Miramichi based Brad Silliker Motorsports team. Danny Chisholm won the Maritime League of Legends Tour feature while Matt Watson captured the Skylark Security Solutions 40 for the Passione Flooring East Coast Mini Stock Tour. The Maritime League of Legends (Craig MacDonald) and the East Coast Mini Stock Tour (Dave Matthews) each crowned champions as a part of the event.
