SYDNEY SPEEDWAY ROARS TO LIFE ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30TH FOR SOFT LAUNCH EVENT
(SYDNEY, NS – October 12th, 2021) – Sydney Speedway is set to host their first event under new ownership to close off the month of October. The oval on Grand Lake Road in Sydney, Nova Scotia will play host to five divisions on October 30th in its soft launch prior to the 2022 season, headlined by a 100-lap Late Model Sportsman feature. The event is slated to begin at 12pm on Saturday, October 30th with a rain date, if needed, of Sunday, October 31st.
There is something for everyone on the card with a 75-lap Mini Stock, 50-lap Legends, 30-lap Bandolero and 30-lap V6 Thunder races joining the Late Model Sportsman on the afternoon. An optional pre-tech, parking and practice day for teams will take place on Friday, October 29th.
With this event being the last scheduled stock car event in Atlantic Canada for the 2021 season, it is expected several teams from outside Cape Breton Island will make the trip to Sydney for the race. Whether you are a race fan or a team, it will be an event you will not want to miss!
The staff at Sydney Speedway has been busy at the facility throughout the Summer working on upgrades on both sides of the fence to enhance the experience at the track. Fans and teams will see improvements to the facility during the October event and plans are underway to continue the enhancements at Cape Breton’s only paved stock car oval into the 2022 season.
The October 30th event will follow all Public Health Guidelines set forth by the Government of Nova Scotia. Those protocols for teams and fans, along with a detailed race day format, purse breakdown, ticketing information and other event information is being worked on and will be released in the weeks leading up to the race. Fans are encouraged to watch the Sydney Speedway Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/SydneySpeedCA) for the newest and updated information as it becomes available.
