(FREDERICTON, NB – October 9th, 2021) – Travis Conroy of Miramichi, New Brunswick raced to his first Maritime Touring championship last Sunday at Speedway Miramichi. Conroy’s seventh place finish in the Keswick Kitchen Season Finale on Sunday, October 3rd at his home track was enough to clinch the season long title by 19 points over reigning champion Yves McCray (Neguac, NB), who placed second in the final race of 2021.
The results of both the Sunday, October 3rd Keswick Kitchen Season Finale and the championship had been under review. The Atlantic Modified Tour Executive met convened several times during the week to complete the final results for the race with results becoming official on Friday. The final finishing order from the Executive gave Braxton Stafford (Miramichi, NB) his third win of the 2021 season and second in a row on the year. The win ties Stafford for the most feature wins on the season with Chris Wilson (South Esk, NB). McCray was scored in second with multi-time champion Joe Hoyt (Waasis, NB) third. Steven Curtis (South Esk, NB) scored a season high fourth place finish in the 35-lap feature while 2021 Rookie of the Year Brody Levesque (Lincoln, NB) completed the top five.
Heat races for the Keswick Kitchen Season Finale were won by Kim Hallihan (Renous, NB) and Conroy.

In feature competition, the No. 7 Patterson’s Sales and Service Modified scored one feature win, four podiums and eight top five finishes in 11 races. His feature win came in the Season Opener at Petty International Raceway in June. His point lead was padded in qualifying with six heat race victories and three additional runner-up finishes in qualifying events.
Stafford’s late season charge landed him third in the standings for 2021, 18 points out of McCray for the runner-up spot in the standings. Hoyt and Doug Matchett (Miramichi, NB) round out the top five in the 2021 championship standings after 11 events.
