Robbie Thompson Races Back to Ontario; Bringing Braden Langille for Autumn Colours Classic Run
Robbie Thompson is heading back to Ontario this weekend – and he’s bringing a friend along with him.
Thompson and his Robbie Thompson Racing (RTR) team will compete in the 28th Autumn Colours Classic at Peterborough Speedway in Peterborough, Ontario from October 8th to 10th with the Ontario Legends Series. The No. 9 will have 2019 Maritime League of Legends Tour and 2020 INEX Winter Nationals Pro Champion Braden Langille at the wheel as Langille makes his Ontario racing debut. They will campaign a Canadian Legend Cars entry at the event with decorated Ontario champion Kevin Foisy and team helping oversee the effort for the Autumn Colours Classic. The team will carry increased support from season long partners EFR Environmental, JT Levings Well Drilling, H&B Car Sales along with KOD Disposal in Peterborough and Velocity Machining and Welding.
The Autumn Colours Classic at Peterborough Speedway is a three day event with qualifying taking place on Friday, October 8th and Saturday, October 9th before the Ontario Legend Series 40-lap feature on Sunday, October 10th. The event marks the last scheduled event on the Ontario Legend Series season.
“I’m excited for this opportunity that Robbie and Kevin have given me to run at Peterborough Speedway and at the Autumn Colours Classic,” said Langille of the weekend. “I’m used to going south at this time of year but it is good to get to new territory and see what we can do. I’m looking forward to competing with the best Ontario Legend racers this weekend!”
“I am honored and super excited to be associated with a dream team like this,” said Robbie Thompson. “Braden’s talent behind the wheel is unparalleled and it is huge to be involved with Canadian Legend Cars and Kevin Foisy. Super excited and honored for all of us to work together beginning with the Autumn Colours Classic!”
Thompson’s No. 9 team capped off the Strictly Hydraulics and Industrial Supply Legend season at Scotia Speedworld last Sunday with a win in class during the TCM Finale Friday with Braden Langille at the wheel. Langille and former Speedworld Legend champions Andrew Lively and Paul Goulden have spent time in the car throughout the season, which placed fifth in the championship standings after 11 races. Langille has two wins in the No. 9 this season along with winning the Scotia Speedworld CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series Season Opener in his No. 51 Velocity Machining and Welding entry.
Robbie Thompson Racing would like to thank season long marketing partners including Qwick Wick, JT Levings Well Drilling, EFR Envrionmental, Bruce Auto Group, Wagners Country Store, Lively Motorsports, Finish Line Vinyl Design, H&B Car Sales, Leaf Racewear, Sponsorship for Saturday Night Racecar Drivers, RPM Race Parts and Braden Langille Motorsports for their support throughout the season.
