ATLANTIC MODIFIED TOUR BAKES UP CHAMPIONSHIP FINALE SATURDAY IN MIRAMICHI

(FREDERICTON, NB – September 28th, 2021) – The Atlantic Modified Tour races into Speedway Miramichi on Saturday afternoon, October 2nd for the Keswick Kitchen Season Finale. The race is the 11th and final round on the 2021 championship season and the fourth and final stop to Speedway Miramichi in Miramichi, New Brunswick this season. The Keswick Kitchen Season Finale is a part of the Fifth Annual The Very Best Fall Shootout Weekend. Action begins on Saturday, October 2nd at 2pm.

Travis Conroy (Miramichi, NB) enters his home track with a comfortable 22 point lead on defending Tour champion Yves McCray (Neguac, NB). While the point lead is manageable for Conroy, it is not out of reach for McCray to come from behind and grab a second consecutive Series championship. In the three appearances in Miramichi this season, Conroy has outscored McCray by a difference of 21 points. Each have one feature win this season, Conroy’s coming in June at Petty Raceway with McCray’s coming later that month at Speedway 660. McCray was the winner of the Keswick Kitchen Season Finale at Speedway Miramichi in 2020.

Braxton Stafford (Miramichi, NB) took control of the battle for third in the championship with his win two weeks ago at Petty International Raceway. Stafford took the upper hand of Zean Dutcher (Miramichi, NB), who won the week prior to at Petty International Raceway. Dutcher enters nine points behind Stafford, tied with Doug Matchett (Miramichi, NB) and four points ahead of Joe Hoyt (Waasis, NB). Stafford and Matchett have win at Speedway Miramichi this season, while Hoyt was a winner in 2020 at the North Shore oval.

The Atlantic Modified Tour has seen seven different winners in ten point races in 2021. In addition to Stafford’s two victories, Chris Wilson (South Esk, NB) has three victories to his credit. One of Wilson’s wins came in Miramichi in July. Conroy, McCray, Dutcher, Matchett and Hoyt each have single wins to their credit this Summer and will look to double up in the Keswick Kitchen Season Finale on Saturday.

The Rookie of the Year battle comes down to one final showdown at Speedway Miramichi. Lincoln, New Brunswick’s Brody Levesque has the upper hand on Michael Savoie of Tracadie, New Brunswick heading into the Keswick Kitchen Season Finale. Levesque enters with a 52 point lead and will look to wrap up the title by starting the race on Saturday afternoon. Speedway Miramichi Bomber driver Johnathan Dickson (Miramichi, NB) will make his Atlantic Modified Tour debut in the No. 3 car on Saturday at his home track.

John Lyon (Fredericton, NB), Kevin Bailey (Minto, NB), Steven Curtis (South Esk, NB) and “The Racing Ranger” Kim Hallihan (Renous, NB) round out a field of 14 drivers expected to compete for the checkered flag in the Keswick Kitchen Season Finale.

Grandstand admission prices for Saturday’s event are $20 for adults and $10 for youth aged eight to 17 and $10 for Seniors aged 65 and older, while children seven years of age and under will be admitted free. Pit admission is $25. Pit gates for competitors open at 9:30am with grandstand gates opening at 11am. Racing action gets underway on Saturday at 2pm.
