MARITIME SUPER SERIES RETURNS TO BARACHOIS THIS SUNDAY

(Barachois, NB – Aug 25th, 2021) – Center for Speed will play host to the 3rd event in the Maritime Super Series of Stock Car Racing this Sunday.  The Series which has drivers from NB, PEI, and NS is a five race series run exclusively at the Shediac CENTRE for Speed in Grand Barachois.  With just 2 races to go in the Series the points championships couldn’t be closer with no more than 10 points separating first from last in each of the 3 competing divisions.  Sundays race will test the competitors on shorter distances than the past 2 events with a 50 lapper of Streets, 40 for Sportsman and 35 for Ironmen and Bombers.  This weekends sponsor is Kevin Quinn Real Estate of Prince Edward Island.

At this half way point in the series, James Matchett of Miriamichi leads the Street Stocks by 1 point over local sensation Michael Cormier of Barachois.  In Bombers, Mark Maillet of Bouctouche has a comfortable lead over all comers while in Ironmen Ashton Gouchie of Lakeville and Jacque Hebert of Moncton are locked head to head in a tie for first. Finally, In Sportsman Brady Creamer also from the Miramichi leads all comers by 15 points while Marcel LeBlanc of Bouctouche, Charles Mercer of Fredericton, Hubert Cormier of Bouctouche and Nick Cudmore of Salisbury are separated by just 3 points in the battle for second place.

Admission prices are Adults $15; Seniors (65+) $10; Youth (17 and under) $5; and Children (7 and under) free. Pit admission for this special event will be $35 (14 and over).  All standings are listed at the Centre’s website at www.centreforspeed.com.

This is the 26th season of continuous racing at the Centre for Speed located in Grand Barachois at 1157 Rte 133 just five kilometers east of Shediac, New Brunswick. This Sunday’s event will feature free camping and parking for all attendees. For further information, visit www.centreforspeed.com.
