TCM Weekly iRacing Series at Oxford Does Double Take on January 6th
The TCM Weekly iRacing Series returns to action at the virtual Oxford Plains Speedway on Wednesday, January 6th. The night will be a potential turning point on the season as the drivers will compete in two full championship events.
Several small changes will highlight the race. The green flag for qualifying in Race One will be moved to 8pm Atlantic and all Consolation/Last Chance Qualifiers on the evening will be 25-laps as opposed to 35-laps. There will be no “Happy Hour” sessions between qualifying and the feature. There will be a 10 minute intermission between the checkered flag in the first race and qualifying in the second. The weather for the second race will be set (with a slight variance) and announced to competitors on Monday, January 4th.
After three races, Matthew Barkhouse and Ashton Tucker have been the top two drivers in the Series. With one drop race factored into the standings, Barkhouse holds a slim four point lead over Tucker. Keith MacLellan, Brett Suggs and Jon Fitzpatrick find themselves locked in a tight third place battle with five races remaining in the Series. The top 12 drivers in the championship standings will receive a part of the championship purse at the completion of the Series in late January. The full point standings can be found at www.timscorner.ca/iRacing.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for the TCM Weekly iRacing Series Oxford Double Header by contacting Tim Terry. Race sponsorships help to fund purses for each event and offset hosting costs for the events.
