Tim’s Corner Motorsports and St. Louis Bar & Grill to Host Maritime Short Track Summit in November
(MONCTON, NB – October 2nd, 2019) – Tim’s Corner Motorsports and St. Louis Bar & Grill Dieppe are excited to announce the Maritime Short Track Summit. The meeting, to be held in November in Dieppe, New Brunswick, will attempt to bring race track and series management together to discuss business related issues including scheduling, promotions, racing product and more. The event will be hosted by Tim Terry of Tim’s Corner Motorsports and Keith Mackintosh of St. Louis Bar and Grill.
“The most common criticism I get from race teams and race fans is “why does it seem that race tracks do not want to work together?” said Tim Terry of Tim’s Corner Motorsports. “I understand more than anyone that this industry is a business for race tracks and series with bottom lines to be met and expenses to be paid. For a race team, there is no reason why four or more tracks have to go head to head with the same division – it only splits car counts. It doesn’t make much sense to me when a track tries to host a big event yet another track wants to host that division on a weekly card. The short track season in Atlantic Canada is only 22 weekends at best, but there has to be a way that all these tracks can work together and ultimately get along to not only grow this sport but to meet their business goals as well.”
Mackintosh, who has two successful St. Louis Bar and Grill locations in the Moncton area and has raced with his son Ryan Mackintosh through the racing ladder in the region, echoes those same sentiments.
“If we can facilitate something that allows these folks to improve only one weekend or one event each, that would be worth the effort,” adds Mackintosh.
Invitations are currently being sent out to all race tracks and series based in the Atlantic Provinces and they are encouraged to RSVP through Tim Terry. Lunch and refreshments will be provided by St. Louis Bar & Grill. The late November meeting will be held following most race track banquets and is in the season where most tracks are planning their upcoming 2020 schedules. The pair are hopeful that all race tracks will be represented at the event.
“If this event does not take off or there are tracks that decide not to attend, at least we can tell the race fans and teams that we tried,” said Terry.
