Sydney Speedway Unveils Competitor and Rules Packages for September and October Events

Sydney Speedway is gearing up for their late season events to close off the 2019 season. The quarter mile oval on Grand Lake Road in Sydney, Nova Scotia will contest events on two weekends this fall.

The first of which will take place on Sunday, September 29th featuring twin features for the Colbourne Auto Group Legends, Steve Lewis Auto Body Bandoleros and Four Cylinders along with a 50-lap feature for the Endurance/Bomber class. Racing gets underway at 1pm on September 29th.

The action ramps up with the Thanksgiving Weekend finale. With the event being the last in the Maritimes for the 2019 stock car racing season, cars from across the region are expected to make the trek to Sydney to get one final race in. UPDATED: Due to rain forecast for Saturday, October 12th, the racing portion of the show has been combined into one day on Sunday, October 13th. The Colbourne Auto Group Legends, Steve Lewis Auto Body Bandoleros and Four Cylinders will compete on both Saturday, October 12th and Sunday, October 13th. The Saturday card will be highlighted by a Street Stock 100 and Sunday will see the Late Model Sportsman compete in a 100-lap showcase of their own. Friday, October 11th will see practice for all stock car classes run from 1pm to 5pm with Endurance/Bomber Racing and a Demolition Derby beginning at 7pm.

Complete competitor information, from rule packages being used on the weekend to payouts (including a new “Big Weekend Bonus” and tow money for the October event) and race day formats along with admission prices can be found in the links below. The Endurance and Demolition Rulebook can also be found below. Endurance and Demolition teams are reminded to look at the safety of their race cars – any car that does not comply to the safety procedures will not be permitted on track.
