Series Release

(BEDFORD, NS – August 12th, 2019) – Craig MacDonald (Waverley, NS) scored a big Maritime League of Legends Tour win in front of his hometown fans on Saturday evening at Scotia Speedworld. The victory was MacDonald’s second of the season and first on the year at the 3/10-mile oval located outside of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The No. 98 car crossed the line nearly two seconds ahead of reigning Maritime League of Legends Tour champion Shelby Baker (Fall River, NS) and defending Scotia Speedworld track champion Paul Goulden (Shelburne, NS) at the completion of 50 laps. Andrew Lively (Middle Sackville, NS) challenged Goulden for his second Maritime League of Legends Tour podium finish of 2019 but fell short, finishing fourth. Kody Quinn (Sydney, NS) finished fifth for his second top five in as many appearances with the Series in 2019.

Nineteen cars answered the call to the green in the 50-lap feature for the Maritime League of Legends Tour, which took 22 minutes to complete. Fleet Brake Atlantic Class Bonus winners for Round Six included podium finishers MacDonald (Semi-Pro), Baker (Pro) and Goulden (Masters). The Rookie of the Race was Matthew Rushton (Dartmouth, NS), finishing 12th. Qualifying heat races were won by Baker, MacDonald and Josh Langille (Coldbrook, NS).

The point leading car was driven by Riley Halverson (Kannapolis, NC) with Braden Langille (Shubenacadie, NS) out of town for the day. With a tenth place finish for the No. 51 on Saturday, it will tighten up the top two in the standings with four point races remaining on the schedule.
