EASTERN SUPER MINI CUP SERIES HAULS INTO OYSTER BED FOR SECOND SHOW OF 2019

(Tyne Valley, PE – July 25th, 2019) – The Eastern Super Mini Cup Series is set to contest the second of five events on the 2019 season this Saturday evening, July 27th at Oyster Bed Speedway. The RW Trucking and RV Hauling 20 is the only scheduled race for the Series in the month of July. Racing begins on Saturday at the Oyster Bed Bridge, Prince Edward Island oval at 6pm.

It seems like ages since the Doc Dawson Enterprises 20 kicked off the 2019 Eastern Super Mini Cup Series, but it has only been a month since Tanton Wooldridge (Summerside, PE) scored his first Series victory in his debut. Wooldridge, a Bandolero standout, will look to go back to back on Saturday as he searches for the checkered flag in the RW Trucking and RV Hauling 20. Where there is youth, there is experience though and no driver in the field has more than “Old Man” Donnie McNeill. McNeill was runner-up to Wooldridge in the first race of the year back in June and only sits seven points behind after the first day of racing.

Reigning champion Mark Ferguson (Saint John, NB) did not have the opening event that he desired but will enter Saturday third in the standings despite missing the podium in the Doc Dawson Enterprises 20 in June. Jacob Dunlop (Victoria, PE) did land on the podium though and has a one point advantage in the standings over fifth place driver and fellow sophomore competitor Randy Wilson.

Logan Dawson (Tyne Valley, PE) could not compete in the feature during the first event after a motor issue sidelined the No. 00 car after the Semi. The sophomore driver was able to collect a heat race victory in June and will look to rebound on Saturday evening in the RW Trucking and RV Hauling 20.

Returning to the Series is longtime veteran Kirk Sheasgreen (Miramichi, NB). After mechanical issues left the original Eastern Super Mini Cup Series driver out of the Doc Dawson Enterprises 20, Sheasgreen has his car in working order for Saturday’s event at Oyster Bed Speedway.

Adult grandstand admission price for Saturday evening’s RW Trucking and RV Hauling 20 is $17 (aged 16 and up), youth admission (aged eight to 15) is $5 and children under eight are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $22 and is restricted to those 16 years of age and older. Tickets are available at the gate on race day. Pit gates for competitors and grandstand gates for fans will open at 2:30pm with racing getting underway at 6pm. The event also includes racing in five Oyster Bed Speedway house divisions, including Pro Stocks, Street Stock, Mini Outlaw, Four Fun and Legends with Kids Rides taking place at 5:30pm.

Following the RW Trucking and RV Hauling 20, the Eastern Super Mini Cup Series returns to action at Oyster Bed Speedway on Saturday, August 10th. Post time is 6pm.
