The Vincent-Lambe-Garnier Racing Team is headed to the high bank of Riverside International Speedway this weekend for one of the most anticipated short track races in Canada, the historic IWK 250.
The expected entry list currently sits at 33 teams including drivers from five provinces and two states. Kent Vincent will join seven other previous champions, all fighting for the opportunity to again hoist the majestic John W. Chisholm Memorial Cup and a chance at the $106,800 race purse.
The VLG Racing team has had their struggles in the past few weeks and are hoping to turn things around heading into the second half of the season. The teams primary Port City Racing chassis was destroyed in Halifax during race four of the Maritime Pro Stock Tour and were forced to a back up car. Unfortunately, last Saturday night their bad luck continued at Petty International Speedway during race six when their back up ride was severely damaged.
This morning the VLG Racing team was able to purchase another car from Hynes Racing thanks to our partners and primary sponsors Direct Tire and TireTireCanada.ca who has once again stepped up to assist our racing program.
Kent whom was voted the 2018 MPST “Fan Favourite,” has dedicated his entire life to stock car racing and was recognized in 2015 with the “Iron Man Award” as he is the only driver to not miss a race since joining the then MASCAR tour in 2000, and was Rookie of the year.
The VLG Racing team is committed to providing all the resources readily available to Kent, not only keep his tradition going but to provide him the opportunity once again this Saturday night to win his third IWK 250 championship.
The VLG Racing Team will also have support for this primer event from Crooks Racing, PEI Potatoes, Standard Aero, ACT Hydraulics, O’Connor Glass Ltd, Sapphire Roofing, Summerside Chrysler Dodge and Don Garnier Petroleum.
For those fans wanting to tune in, the event will also be streamed live on Race Time Radio or follow the VLG Racing team on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
