Hicken Wins Second Straight Tour Race, Takes Irving 150 at Petty

(Moncton, NB, July 13, 2019) – Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell, PE) picked up his second win in as many weeks at the Irving Oil 150 at Petty International Raceway. Hicken took home the victory last week at Oyster Bed Speedway, his home track, and backed it up tonight in front of a full house. Current point leader, Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) continues his podium streak finishing second. Part-time driver and previous Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Rookie of the Year, Stephen Halpin (Saint John, NB) finished in the third position. Nicholas Naugle (Dartmouth, NS) and Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) rounded out the top five.

Three Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races determined the starting order for the Irving Oil 150. Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell, PE) Terry Dougay (Albany, PE) and Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE) were first under the checkers in their respective qualifiers.

Russell Smith Jr. (Lakeside, NS) picked up the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race. Hicken won the Kenny U-Pull Hard Charger Award. Gosbee led the field for 83 laps earning him the Most Laps Led award.

Prior to the Irving Oil 150 the Leisure Days RV Bandoleros, Mister Transmission Mini Stocks and Maritime League of Legends put on some racing for the fans. Colton Noble (Upper Nine Mile River, NS) won the Bandolero feature. JR Lawson (Shubenacadie, NS) was on top of the podium in the Mini Stock race while Braden Langille (Shubenacadie, NS) took the victory for the Maritime League of Legends.
