Rain Helps Set Up Super Sunday in Atlantic Canada
After rainouts at three race tracks in the Maritimes on Saturday, it has set up a Sunday schedule of six races in Atlantic Canada for race fans to check out.
Speedway 660, Oyster Bed Speedway and Petty International Raceway all lost their Saturday shows and will run head to head on Sunday, July 7th at 2pm. Speedway 660’s call was made early due to the forecast of extreme heat and thunderstorms (which eventually produced a tornado warning before 4pm). Oyster Bed Speedway and Petty Raceway took on Mother Nature head on before losing their cards just prior to the scheduled start time.
Speedway 660 has their card headlined by the Best of the Best Pro Stock 100, the Seventh Annual Caleb Dunn Memorial and Night of Destruction is a part of the double bill at Petty Raceway while Oyster Bed hosts the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and the Canada Day 150 along with INEX National Qualifiers for Maritime League of Legends and Bandoleros.
To magnify the weather issues over the last two weeks of the season, this is the third date the Pro Stock Tour has tried to run the Oyster Bed Speedway event.
The good news?! All three tracks call for forecasts of sun and mid to high 20s tomorrow.
These three shows are in addition to point racing shows at Lake Doucette Motor Speedway (Kids Day), Valley Raceway and Eastbound Park (Brian’s Auto 75 and INEX National Qualifiers).
With the sun expected to come out Sunday, be sure to head to your local track and check out your hometown heroes do battle!
