Atlantic Championships – Race Day Formats, Late Model Entry Lists, Admission Prices and More
The 19th Annual Atlantic Stock Car Championships are this weekend at the CENTRE For Speed outside of Shediac, New Brunswick. The year end celebration of stock car racing is the only stock car event held at the 3/8-mile oval in 2018 and will be the final Late Model race events in Atlantic Canada for the year.
We’ve combined as much important information as we could into one place, including race day formats, expected entry lists and admission prices. Please note, the information is subject to change without notice and folks are encouraged to visit CENTREForSpeed.com or Shediac CENTRE For Speed on Facebook for up to date information from the track.
The Tim’s Corner Motorsports video coverage from the 2018 Atlantic Stock Car Championships at the CENTRE For Speed is presented by the Atlantic Motel in Berry Mills, NB and St. Louis Bar and Grill Moncton and Dieppe. Keeps tabs of our Facebook page, Instagram account and Snapchat account (all @timscornerca) for more information throughout the weekend of racing.

- We’re expecting to see reigning champions Dave Matthews (Mini Stock), Mark Ferguson (Eastern Super Mini Cup Series), John Rankin (Sportsman) and Alex Sheehan (Street Stock) return to the CENTRE For Speed this weekend to defend their championships earned in 2017. Rankin and Matthews won their second Atlantic Championships last year and will look for their third big wins in their respective division.
- Austin MacDonald (Pro Stock) and Luc McLaughlin (Sportsman) will make their Late Model debuts at the CENTRE For Speed this weekend. The event has seen Pro Stock debuts in recent years from the likes of Braden Langille, Jarrett Butcher and Sarah McKay. MacDonald will drive a King Racing No. 27 entry while McLaughlin will pilot a CB Warren Auto Care car previously campaigned by the Craig McFetridge Dulux Paints team.
- No pre-registration lists have been released by the track but car counts in the support divisions are expected to be strong. The Four Fun division has struggled to get out of the single digits for car count but it is believed the division will crack double digits for the first time since 2015.
- Before they head to Richmond for the PASS Commonwealth Classic, Cassius Clark and the King Racing team will attack the Atlantic Championships with the No. 13 car. The team has won the last two Atlantic Championships for Pro Stocks with Jonathan Hicken at the wheel of the Pictou, Nova Scotia based entry.
- The race is a point event for the Eastern Super Mini Cup Series. Defending Atlantic Championships champion Mark Ferguson is the point leader with only one race to go after Saturday. You can check out the point situation for the ESMCS here.
- The event kicks off Friday night with Early Arrival Test n Tune Practice from 4pm to 7pm.
