Blenkhorn Wins Dartmouth Dodge 200, Butcher Wins Second Maritime Pro Stock Tour Championship

Series Release

(Halifax, NS, September 15, 2018) – Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) picked up his fourth victory of the season at Scotia Speedworld in the season finale Dartmouth Dodge 200. Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) was second followed by Cole Butcher in third who took home his second Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Championship in his sixth season on the Tour.

Butcher all but had the championship wrapped up entering the finale but the battle for second, third, and fourth was hotly contested. Blenkhorn’s victory gave him the edge over Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) who end the 2018 season second and third respectively. 2017 champ Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) winds up fourth in the points standings followed by Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE) in fifth.

Starting positions for the Dartmouth Dodge 200 were set by Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races which were won by Slaunwhite, Chris Reid (Fort McMurray, AB) and Cole Butcher. Nicholas Naugle (Dartmouth, NS) won the King Freight Lines Future Winner award with Braden Langille (Shubenacadie, NS) picking up the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race.

Waylon Farrell (Conception Bay South, NL) takes home the 2018 Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year title completing his sophomore season 11th in points. Farrell will receive the iconic Exide Battery Rookie trophy at the annual awards banquet in November.

The Maritime League of Legends kicked off the day’s festivities with a 50 lap feature presented by Atlantic Fleet Completion Centre. Craig MacDonald (Waverley, NS) came home first followed by Cory Hall (Jolicure, NB) and Shelby Baker (Fall River, NS) who was also crowned the 2018 Maritime League of Legends Champion.

Butcher will officially receive his championship spoils including the impressive championship ring commissioned by Inglis Jewelers at the 2018 Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Year End Awards Banquet on November 10th at the Westin Nova Scotia in Halifax.
