Toole Outlasts NSPE FWD Derby Field, Grant and Blenkhorn Tie for RWD Win
Charles Toole emerged from a field of 16 to win his first Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition (NSPE) John Ross and Sons Demolition Derby on Wednesday evening.
Toole, driving the No. 41 TML Construction and Keith’s Lawn Care entry from North River, put Jack Reid on the ropes late in the Front Wheel Drive Derby to eliminate the seemingly invincible No. 3J car. Earlier in the Derby, the 3J was on its roof before being put back on its wheels and mobile once again. Colby Jollimore lasted longer than his John Ross and Sons teammates to finish third in the Front Wheel Drive Derby.
Three Derby heavyweights went at it in the Rear Wheel Drive contest to open up the evening. Kevin Grant and Dylan Blenkhorn would end up tied for the win after the two met in the centre of the ring delivering two crushing blows to each other, leaving the pair connected at the finish. Bob MacDonald finished third.
The motorsports action continues on Friday and Saturday with the popular Truck and Tractor Pulls with the ATV Obstacle Course wrapping up the action on Sunday. The Creative Auto Images Cruise In Show, with over 100 pre-registrations, takes to the Truro Raceway infield on Thursday from 6pm to 8pm.
