(BEDFORD, NS – August 13th, 2018) – Much like his previous two victories of the 2018 season, Craig MacDonald (Waverley, NS) showed impressive speed en route to the Farrell’s Excavating Limited 50 win at Scotia Speedworld. MacDonald won his heat race and set sail from the front row of the 18-car field for his third Series win in six races.
“This thing was one heck of a rocket,” said MacDonald of his car after the Farrell’s Excavating Limited 50. “It is a big race to win on Toromont Cat 250, it’s the second time I’ve been able to win on this weekend and it feels even better to win it again!”
Behind MacDonald was a frantic race for the runner-up position late in the feature. Nathan Blackburn (Timberlea, NS) was able to get the advantage on the pack late to score his best career Maritime League of Legends Tour finish of second. Emily Meehan (Rawdon, NS) was able to slip the final podium position away from point leader Shelby Baker (Fall River, NS) while Adam Meehan (Rawdon, NS) was fifth at the finish. Adam Meehan, driving the Farrell’s Racing No. 12, was able to race to the spot ahead of a hungry pack that included Tylor Hawes (Porter’s Lake, NS), Andrew Lively (Middle Sackville, NS) and Michael Cormier (Grand-Barachois, NB).
MacDonald and Blackburn won qualifying races prior to the Farrell’s Excavating Limited 50. Blackburn was the top Fleet Brake Atlanitc Rookie contender to take home the Rookie of the Race Award. The Farrell’s Excavating Limited 50 took 22 minutes to complete.
