Eastern Super Mini Cup
DUNLOP SCORES FIRST ESMCS WIN IN MICHAEL HARVEY CONSTRUCTION 20

Series Release
(MISCOUCHE, PE – July 23rd, 2018) – It was only a matter of time before Jacob Dunlop scored his first win in the Eastern Super Mini Cup Series victory.
Ever since the Hampton, Prince Edward Island driver sat in the No. 73 car at the start of the 2018 season, he showed speed. That speed took him to the front of the field Saturday as he crossed the line first to win the Michael Harvey Construction 20 at Oyster Bed Speedway. The feature win was his first with the Series in just his fourth start.
Dunlop had to earn the victory though as Mark Ferguson (Saint John, NB) put the pressure on the rookie for the win. Ferguson, the 2016 champion of the Series, would have to settle for second place in the Michael Harvey Construction 20, his third podium finish in four races. Logan Dawson (Tyne Valley, PE) raced to his first top three finish with the Series as he rounded out the podium.
“Old Man” Donnie McNeil’s bid for three straight victories at Oyster Bed Speedway was halted with a fourth place finish. Dave Griffin placed fifth in the Michael Harvey Construction 20 with Summerside’s Jeremy Alexander and rookie Randy Wilson completing the field.
Kirk Sheasgreen (Miramichi, NB) had his podium streak halted early in the day with motor problems developing during the practice session. He did not start the feature.
Ferguson took the checkered flag in the heat race qualifier with Dunlop taking home the win in the Semi.
