“I am really looking forward to working with Brad this season; he comes from a great family that is dedicated to his racing career. After getting a chance to see him race last year and see the success he had we are looking to build on that momentum in 2013 and I am confident that we will be contending for race wins and a Championship.”
About Lonnie Sommerville:
Success in racing came early for Sommerville as in his first ever race behind the wheel of a stock car in 1991 at the age of sixteen was a win. From that first win people in the Maritime racing community quickly noticed the talent displayed by the racer. So in 1994 Lonnie formed “Lonnie Sommerville Racing” when he purchased a Maritime sportsman car. It took just three races behind the wheel before Lonnie won his first sportsman race which was just the start of a long list of wins and accomplishments over the next several years of sportsman racing.
It was late ’98 before Sommerville made his first ever start behind the wheel of a super late model, and just as history repeats itself so did the success of Sommerville by finishing third in his first race. The talent and abilities of Sommerville have been seen more than ever in the super late model division where he won the biggest payday ever for a New Brunswick based racer winning the 2006 Peterbilt 250 at Speedway 660 in Geary, NB.
The following year Lonnie was named the 2007 CARQUEST Maritime Pro Stock rookie of the year. Since then Sommerville has added several wins to his career totals most notably winning both Scotia Speedworld’s Atlantic CAT 250 and the Peterbilt 250 once again in 2009. The win at Speedway 660 made Sommerville the first driver in history to repeat as a Peterbilt 250 champion. The Canadian also captured his first win on foreign soil winning a feature event at the 2010 World Series of Asphalt at New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna, Florida. In 2013 Lonnie will compete for 2012 Sprint Cup Champion Brad Keselowski’s driving a Super Late Model for selected United States events.

Quote from Geoff Armstrong:
“I’m excited to be given the opportunity to work with Brad and his Team in 2013. As Crew Chief for another competitor in 2012 we raced against Brad each week and he showed me that he has the drive and professionalism to succeed. Building on my own experience, and joining forces with Lonnie Sommerville Racing in 2013, I am confident that we will make a great Team. Lonnie taught me a lot when I first started in the sport and I really am excited to team up and grow his racing business.”
About Geoff Armstrong:
Geoff is a seasoned veteran of short track racing and started racing at a very early age. Geoff has worked with NASCAR Canadian Tire Series drivers Dave Whitlock, Mark Dilley, and Scott Steckly. He was also New Brunswick Pro Stock driver Greg Fahey’s Crew Chief in 2008, 2009 who went on to win the Pro Stock Championship at Speedway 660. Geoff also assisted New Brunswick driver Chris Duncan for the final 3 races of 2010 to win another Championship at Speedway 660. In 2011 Geoff maintained Steve Halpin’s Pro Stock race car finishing 3rd in the Auto Value 250 and in 2012 Geoff lead Steve and the Team to MPST Rookie of the Year honors.
