Toursec Twin 50s Put Four Cylinders in Speedworld Spotlight Friday

Track Release/Feature Photo by McCarthy Photographic

(Halifax, NS. August 23, 2017) The Toursec Thunder & Lightning will take centre stage at Scotia Speedworld this week as they do battle for 50 grueling laps in the Toursec Twin 50’s. Joining Atlantic Canada’s best four-cylinders are the Affordable Fuels Sportsman and the Strictly Hydraulics Legends. Grandstand gates open at 5:00pm with CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series action slated for 7:00pm.

Dave Matthews (Kennetcook) is the point leader in the Toursec Thunder division and is looking for his third division title. Matthews also took home the first Toursec 50 for Thunder in July. Tim Hortons at the Airport Rookie leader Neil Miousse (Kentville) enters second in the standings, ahead of Jesse Deveau (Greenwood), who is coming off his first podium finish on Atlantic Cat 250 weekend.

Megan Parrott (Beaver Bank) will make her Toursec Thunder car debut behind the wheel of the Mark Williams owned #23 Civic. Williams, of Elmsdale, enters tied for fifth in the point standings.

Scott Thibodeau (Williamswood) enters Friday as the point leader and the most recent Toursec 50 Lightning  winner in July, but it has been “Rational” Richard Drake (Halifax) making a majority of the headlines in the month of August. In fact, Drake has not lost a feature in August. Drake will try to extend his win streak to four and close the five point margin between he and Thibodeau on Friday night in the extended lap feature.
