(July 27, 2017) The Clark Chevrolet Best of the Best 150 is on the Speedway 660 schedule for 6:30PM this Saturday. It’s one of Atlantic Canada’s most prestigious Pro Stock races of the season, with the winner and runner-up earning provisional starting positions in the McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250 on SpeedWeekend.
The RE/MAX Group Four Realty Pro Stock division drivers will face visiting drivers from around the Maritimes and New England in this event. Fans will also be treated to action in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman, DMR Auto Sales Street Stock and Fredericton Gun Shop divisions.
“The Best of the Best 150 is an opportunity to lock-up one of those provisional spots for the big SpeedWeekend race, but it’s also gives us a chance to see how we stack up against some of the best competition from the Maritimes and New England” said RE/MAX Group Four Realty Pro Stock point leader Brent Roy. “Last year in our rookie season we had mechanical issues and finished a disappointing 17th but we’ve been on a roll since the start of 2017 and are looking for a much better result in this year’s Best of the Best 150.”
Twenty-three Pro Stocks started the Best of the Best 150 a year ago. Cassius Clark (Farmington, Maine) won the race while Greg Fahey (St. Stephen, NB) finished second. Lonnie Sommerville (Saint John, NB) drove to a third place finish, Ben Rowe (Turner, Maine) was fourth and Kevin Moore (Fredericton, NB) was fifth.
This week officials announced there will be more free admissions to upcoming events at Speedway 660. Adult ticket prices for the Best of the Best 150 are $25; admission is FREE for fans 15 years of age and under and; pit passes for fans 16 and over are $5.
