TCM Best of Awards
Finish Line Vinyl Design Best Looking Car Award Expands to Two
Tim’s Corner Motorsports (TCM) and Finish Line Vinyl Design have partnered to present the Finish Line Vinyl Design Best Looking Car Award as a part of the 2017 TCM Best of Racing Awards.
Only this time, fans and competitors will be seeing double.
That’s right, for the first time since TCM began hosting the award in 2012, two Best Looking Car Awards will be handed out this year.
All nominations for the Finish Line Vinyl Design Best Looking Car Award will be split into two categories – Late Model and Support Class. Any car that is not a Late Model (Pro Stock, Sportsman, etc.) will be put into the Support Class category and have a shot at winning their own Best Looking Car Award.
The voting process to narrow the field and ultimately determine the winner of the Finish Line Vinyl Design Best Looking Car Awards will remain the same. A panel of 25 made up of those outside of the Atlantic Canadian racing community will choose their favorite five cars in each category. The top five in the panel vote will move ahead to the Fan Vote, where the fans will choose their favorite schemes. Both the results from the Panel Vote and Fan Vote will carry equal weight, with the winner from the combined vote receiving the 2017 Finish Line Vinyl Design Best Looking Car Award.
Cars that have competed in at least three events in Atlantic Canada in the current racing season are eligible for the award. Nominations for the pair of awards will open in late August.
Over 90 cars were nominated for the 2016 edition of the Finish Line Vinyl Design Best Looking Car Award, with the #56 Sportsman driven by Josh Collins taking the top honor. The car finished second in both the Panel Vote and the Fan Vote. Only three “support class cars” have made the final five in the award scoring over the last five years, including 2013 winner Braden Langille’s Bandolero.
