Start Your Karts! TCM 250 Hitting the Track on May 7th

The ultimate kick off to the 2017 stock car season will take place on Sunday, May 7th at Kartbahn Racing with the inaugural Tim’s Corner Motorsports 250.

The race will be 250-laps in length, run in teams of five or more. Each stint put in by a driver can be between five and 20 laps, 16 stops must be made throughout the event and a minimum time on pit road is required for each driver change. The stint length per driver, who drives what stint and when the stops are made will be a major part of strategy in the event.

“We’ve had a great relationship over the winter with Lucas, John and the entire Kartbahn team,” said Tim Terry of Tim’s Corner Motorsports. “When they came to me with this idea, it was a no brainer that we had to give it a go!”

A maximum of eight teams can participate in the event, with one team being chosen through social media competitions on the Kartbahn Racing and Tim’s Corner Motorsports social media pages.

Registration fee is $45 per driver or $200 for a team of five. Should a single driver want to participate, race organizers will place them with a team for the event. Prizes and awards for the event are in the planning stages and will be announced closer to the race day.

Check in and registration will take place on Sunday, May 7th at 2:30pm with a driver’s meeting to take place at 3pm. The event will begin at 3:30pm and is expected to run around 2 hours.

Kartbahn Racing, located at 66 Otter Lake Court in Halifax, is home to the popular TCM Stock Car Shootout Series, taking place once a month on Tuesday in the stock car racing off-season. Winners of the series in 2016-17 include two-time winner Craig MacDonald (Waverley, NS), Cory Hall (Jolicure, NB), Kyle Gammon (Mount Uniacke, NS) and Andrew Lively (Middle Sackville, NS). The TCM Stock Car Shootout All Star Race will complete the season on Tuesday, May 16th at 7:30pm.
