TCM Stock Car Shootout
Hall Collects First TCM Stock Car Shootout at Kartbahn
Cory Hall has won about everything he has entered this year in his Legend car. He’s collected trophies in North Carolina, Florida and Texas en route to eight wins on the 2017 season.
His ninth win may not count for INEX points, but it was certainly one of the most exciting of the year.
Hall, from Jolicure, New Brunswick, set up Petty International Raceway co-owner Craig McFetridge with a lap and a half left in the 16-lap feature to win the TCM Stock Car Shootout V at Kartbahn Racing on Tuesday night. After the invert of the top six qualifiers from qualifying, McFetridge started on the pole and held it for the first 14 laps before Hall’s inside move in Turn Three put him ahead for good.
While Hall made his move for the lead, Brandon Crawford capitalized on Brad Eddy’s misstep to take third place. It is Crawford’s second straight podium finish while it was Eddy’s first appearance at the TCM Stock Car Shootout. Eddy, the former Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour competitor and Canadian Bandolero champion, now calls Calgary, Alberta home.
Craig MacDonald, who set fast time by nearly two tenth, got caught up in a couple of dustups coming through the field after the invert. He and Hall shared the third row of the start.
Harry Breimer Jr made his first TCM Stock Car Shootout appearance and while he started on the outside pole, the first corner was not kind and Breimer would end up finishing eighth.
Inaugural TCM Stock Car Shootout champion Andrew Lively had to use the B Main to get into the feature after holding off a hard charging Nic Baker. Prince Edward Island’s Tyler Larkin held off Breanna Joudrey to take home the C Main.
The final installment in the TCM Stock Car Shootout at Kartbahn will take place on Tuesday, May 16th and will serve as a season ending All Star Race. The invite only event will feature top three finishers from any TCM Stock Car Shootout A Main along with B and C Main winners. The field will also include select Karter vs Bandolero winners and TCM Stock Car Shootout regulars. A complete list of drivers will be released in the next week.
