#TCMBestof2016 – “Honorable Mentions” Finish Line Vinyl Design Best Looking Car

While Josh Collins and his #56 Sportsman car from Eastbound Park was crowned the winner of the 2016 Finish Line Vinyl Design Best Looking Car Award, six cars barely sat on the outside looking in when it came to the panel vote.

Our panel, made up of 25 from outside the Maritime Racing community who were seeing the nominees for the Finish Line Vinyl Design Best Looking Car Award for the first time, converged on our Facebook page in October to take a look at our 90+ nominees for the award. We asked each finalist to pick their favorite five cars (because picking one out of the lot is hard as it is) and we were presented with five nominees who garnered at least seven panel nods. It should be noted that 36 cars received at least one vote from our panel, up from 31 in 2015 and 29 in 2014.

Unlike previous years where the results were a lot more clear in the panel vote, we had six cars with six panel votes. Those six cars sat just one vote shy of cracking the top five to move on to the Fan Vote, as Michael Neary’s Bandolero sat fifth in the panel standings with seven votes. Of those cars, three teams are making a repeat appearance near the top of the heap for a second time over the past three seasons.

Here are the six cars that barely missed out on the top five in the 2016 Finish Line Vinyl Design Best Looking Car Award.
