Speedway Miramichi to Close Their Season with Annual Halloween Spooktacular

Speedway Miramichi’s mid-October classic returns this weekend with the running of the Halloween Spooktacular.

The event combines both stock car racing and demolition for one last event on the North Shore oval. While the Demolition championships have been decided (the awards will be handed out prior to the day’s racing), track championships in the Street Stock and Mini Stock divisions will be on the line, along with the Atlantic Modified Tour who will be crowning their 2016 champion. Even with a falter last weekend during the Fall Final at Petty International Raceway, second year driver Justin Beers enters the Halloween Spooktacular with the AMT point lead. Mike Weagle (Mini Stock) and Darcy O’Neill (Street Stock) are listed as having healthy margins in their respective divisions heading into the final race.

The Eastern Super Mini Cup Series is also scheduled to make an one off appearance at the track this weekend. Their only other race this season had taken place at Oyster Bed Speedway.

Kids Rides will also be a part of the program, beginning at 1:45pm.

Following all the racing action on the card will be demolition action with the added “Run What You Brung” division. Qualifying events for Demolition include the Dash for Cash, Powder Puff, Back up, Bag Race, Figure 8 and a Tire Fryer (burnout). The day will include with a classic “all out old school” demolition.

Admission for adults is $15 for grandstands, $10 for youth ages eight to 17 and free for children ages seven and under. Pit admission is $20. Treat bags will be available for the first 100 children through the gates and there will be a prize for the best decorated car.
