The first ballot, which will run until Tuesday, September 27th at Noon Atlantic, consists of four different awards, including the first round of the Martin’s Home Heating Most Popular Driver Award voting.

TCM Most Popular Driver Voting Format:
Round One – All of the 94 nominated drivers are placed on the same ballot. After one week of voting, the field will be trimmed to the top 25 drivers for the second round of voting.
NEW FOR 2016 – for the first round only, because there are so many drivers on the ballot, you can select up to five drivers in the first round. You can select one if you wish but the option is open to select up to five from the list. This choice will be in play for the first round only. Team up with other drivers on your campaigns, get your fans and theirs to help out to get to the second round!
Round Two – The second round of voting will take place from Wednesday, September 28th at 6pm to Wednesday, October 5th at NOON and will feature the top 25 drivers from the first round of voting. The top ten from this group will transfer into the final round of voting.
Round Three – The final round of voting for the 2016 Maritin’s Home Heating Most Popular Driver Award will feature the top ten from the second round of voting. The winner of this final vote will receive the TCM Most Popular Driver Award. Voting runs from Thursday, October 6th at NOON Atlantic to Monday, October 17th at Noon Atlantic.
TCM Fan Favorite Weekly Short Track Nominees:
Oyster Bed Speedway – Oyster Bed Bridge, Prince Edward Island
Operates from May to September with most races taking place on Saturday nights at 6pm. Home to four divisions weekly, including Mini Stocks, Outlaws, Street Stocks and Late Models. Home to races on the Eastern Super Mini Cup Series, Upper Clements Parks Maritime League of Legends Tour and Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. Also hosts Bandolero races and Demolition events and is the site of the annual David Lambe Memorial Street Stock feature.
Scotia Speedword – Enfield, Nova Scotia (2015 Winner)
Operates from May to September with most races taking place on Friday nights at 7pm. Home to six divisions weekly, including Bandoleros, Legends, Thunder, Lightning, Trucks and Sportsman. Home to races on the Upper Clements Parks Maritime League of Legends Tour and Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. Also hosts Maple Leaf Monster Jam Tour, Rusty Wallace Racing Experience and the 2016 Nitro Circus Tour. Home of the Atlantic Cat 250, the $20/Carload Night and hosted Fanfest for a seconds straight year in 2016.
Speedway 660 – Geary, New Brunswick (2014 Winner)
Operates from May to September with most races taking place on Saturday nights at 6:30pm. Home to four divisions weekly, including Sharp Shooters, Street Stock, Sportsman and Pro Stock. Home to races on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour, Upper Clements Parks Maritime League of Legends Tour and Atlantic Modified Tour. Also hosts Bandolero racing. Home of Speedweekend and McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250.
TCM Monthly Operating Short Track (Seven or more stock car events):
Eastbound Park – Avondale, NL
Eastbound Park is Newfoundland’s premiere paved stock car oval with racing from May to September. Divisions include the NAPA Auto Parts Sportsman, Hanlon Realty Legends, Islander RV Bandoleros and Atlantic Dodge Dealers Mini Stocks. The race track is sanctioned by the NASCAR Home Tracks and the NASCAR Whelen All American Series, along with US Legend Cars International and INEX.
Lake Doucette Motor Speedway in Salmon River, NS
South of Digby lies the unique 1/2-mile oval of Lake Doucette Motor Speedway. Running a Four Cylinder (Men’s and Women’s), Sportsman and V8 Class, the track typically contests races every second Sunday afternoon at 1pm.
Petty International Raceway in River Glade, NB (Two time winner)
Located in the shadows of Moncton, New Brunswick, Petty International Raceway has four house divisions – the Leisure Days RV Bandoleros, Mister Transmission Mini Stock, Extreme Windows and Entrance Systems Street Stocks and Sportsman. Petty Raceway also hosts four touring series each season: the Atlantic Modified Tour, Upper Clements Parks Maritime League of Legends and Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. New for 2016, the track launched the Women on Wheels class and continued to build their annual Demolition Derby event from 2015. The track operates race events from May to September.
Valley Raceway in Melvern Square, NS
Nestled in the Annapolis Valley, just outside of Kingston, sits Valley Raceway. Nova Scotia’s only dirt track hosts Four Cylinder, V8, Trucks and Unlimited class racing every second Sunday at 1pm with a growing fan base and car count showing up to compete each week.
TCM Special Events Track (Six or Less Stock Car Events):
Cape Breton Miners Memorial Speedway in Sydney, NS
Cape Breton’s only stock car oval on the Grand Lake Road in Sydney hosts the NAPA Sportsman Series, along with racing in the Saf-way Auto Street Stocks and Ramsay’s Honda Mini Stocks from June to October.
Riverside International Speedway in James River, NS (Two-time winner)
The crown jewel of stock car racing in Atlantic Canada. Riverside International Speedway hosts the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour three times a season, including the iconic IWK 250 in July. The NAPA Sportsman Series and Upper Clements Parks Maritime League of Legends are regular visitors to the high banked oval in James River, Nova Scotia. The track is also the only Atlantic Canadian venue for the NASCAR Pinty’s Series and saw the return of Four Cylinder Hondas in 2016. Racing takes place at the track from June to September.
Shediac’s Centre for Speed in Grand-Barachois, NB
Going back to a one weekend schedule for stock cars again in 2016, the Atlantic Championships remains the lone stock car event on the slate at the Grand-Barachois, NB track. While music events, demolitions and drifting highlight the schedule at the oval, the annual October event remains a favorite on many racer’s schedules.
Speedway Miramichi in Miramichi, NB
Changing ownership in 2015 from Jason Carnahan to Barry Richard, Speedway Miramichi’s Chi City Showdown event remained a success and grew in popularity this past September. The track also hosts periodic stock car racing for Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, the Atlantic Modified Tour and Eastern Super Mini Cup Series from May to October.
Thunder Valley Speedway in Jumper’s Brook, NL
Re-opening in 2016 and led by Brad and Amy Melendy and Sideways Motorsports, Thunder Valley Speedway hosted five race events which included the Sportsman, Hobby Stock and Bomber classes on all events, along with appearances from the Legend and Bandolero divisions. The track is located just outside of Bishop’s Falls, NL.
