SLAUNWHITE WINS CUMMINS 150 AT 52nd RIVER GLADE INTERNATIONAL

(River Glade, NB, August 27, 2016) Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) won his second consecutive River Glade International trophy in the Cummins 150 Saturday night at Petty International Raceway in front of a capacity crowd. Slaunwhite led 85 laps during the highlight event of the 52nd running of the prestigious River Glade International, earning him the Linde Most Laps Led Award. Championship contender Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) and Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) both made pit stops in the first half of the race and drove back to finish second and third, respectively. Point leader Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) came home fourth with Robbie MacEwen (Sherwood, PE) coming home fifth in the 17 car field.

Starting positions for the Cummins 150 were determined by Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races. Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) picked up P1 after finishing first in heat one. Darren Mackinnon (Charlottetown, PE) and Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) also picked up victories in their respective heats.

Nevin Scott (Marshfield, PE) receives the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race with a ninth place finish. The King Freight Lines Future Winner Award, which goes to any driver in the field who has never won a Series race, was awarded to Robbie MacEwen (Sherwood, PE) who had a fifth place finish.

The Upper Clements Park Maritime League of Legends and Leisure Days RV Bandoleros kicked off the day’s festivities. Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) Paul Goulden (Shelburne, NS) and Justin MacNeill (Bedford, NS), were on the podium in the 50 lap Legends feature. Michael Cormier (Moncton, NB) won the 25 lap Bandolero contest.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is off for the weekend but returns September 10th with the penultimate Lucas Oil 150 at Riverside International located just outside of Antigonish, NS. The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Season Finale takes place September 17th with the Dartmouth Dodge 200 at Scotia Speedworld.

Track Release

(River Glade, NB – August 27th, 2016) – Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS), Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) and Michael Cormier (Grand Barachois, NB) were the winners of the second night of competition at the 52nd Jones Auto Body River Glade International.

Cormier rebounded after a practice crash to take the win in the 25-lap Leisure Days RV Bandolero feature. Josh Langille (Coldbrook, NS) and Nathan Blackburn (Timberlea, NS) joined the point leader Cormier on the podium. Heat races for the Leisure Days RV Bandolero division were taken home by Blackburn and Cormier.

Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) came home with the win in the Upper Clements Parks Maritime League of Legends Tour MacDonald Buick GMC 50. Butcher, driving for Adam Meehan (Rawdon Gold Mines, NS) inherited the lead when Cory Hall (Jolicure, NB) spun from the lead with three laps to go. Paul Goulden (Shelburne, NS), who won a heat race along with Hall, finished in second in the Legend feature with 2015 River Glade International winner Justin MacNeill (Bedford, NS) rounding out the top three.

The Cummins 150 for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour was won by Slaunwhite for a second consecutive season. Complete results for the tenth round on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour can be found at MaritimeProStockTour.com.

Luc Bourgeois (Memramcook, NB; Sportsman), Craig Ward (Riverview, NB; Extreme Window and Entrance Systems Street Stock), Mike Weagle (Salisbury, NB; Mister Transmission Mini Stock) and Tom Betts (Atlantic Modified Tour) each won their respective features on Friday evening during Night One of the Jones Auto Body River Glade International.

The next event for Petty International Raceway takes place on Saturday, September 10th. The event will be headlined by the Clear Choice Towing 100 for Sportsman drivers. The Extreme Window and Entrance Systems Street Stocks, Mister Transmission Mini Stocks, Leisure Days RV Bandoleros and Women on Wheels will also be on the card.
