Days Inn Oromocto Shines Into 2013 With TCM

Tim’s Corner Motorsports is pleased to announce a continued partnership with Days Inn Oromocto in Oromocto, New Brunswick for the 2013 season. This is the second year of a partnership which sees Days Inn Oromocto as the “Official Fredericton Area Accommodations Partner of Tim’s Corner Motorsports.” Tim’s Corner Motorsports, TimsCorner.ca and Tim’s Corner Unplugged are slated to cover eight events at Speedway 660 in 2013.

Days Inn Oromocto is located at 60 Brayson Boulevard in Oromocto, New Brunswick. The hotel is located a short drive from Speedway 660 in nearby Geary and just ten minutes away from the City of Fredericton. Days Inn Oromocto features an indoor salt water pool, hot tub, fitness room and business center, free parking and Relish Gourmet Burgers, an onsite licensed restaurant. Race fans can make reservations by going to DaysInnOromocto.com or by calling 1-866-529-0675.

“I’m thrilled to have Mr. Hood and his staff back on board this season for what is sure to be a record breaking season on TimsCorner.ca,” said Tim’s Corner Motorsports owner Tim Terry. “I always look forward to going to the Fredericton area each year, not only because of the fabulous racing at Speedway 660, but also because of the incredible hospitality you will get when you stay a night in Oromocto. If I’m a race fan, or I’m planning a vacation to the New Brunswick Capital Region, I’d be on the phone now booking my stay with Days Inn Oromocto. If it’s anything like last year, rooms are sure to go quick!”

Tim’s Corner Motorsports will be covering eight races at Speedway 660 this year, leading off with the Riverview Ford Lincoln season opening weekend. Friday, May 24th sees an open practice for Weekly Racing Series competitors with the first race of the “20th Anniversary Season at 660” roaring to life on Saturday, May 25th at 7pm. The Pro Stocks, Sportsman, Street Stocks, Four Cylinders and Bandoleros will be included in a jam packed card to kick off 2013.

Two weeks later (June 8th), the cars and stars of the Pro All Stars Series head to the Geary speed plant for a 150-lap feature. Johnny Clark of Hallowell, Maine won a rain delayed event last year following a battery change at a Lap 100 break. With no break this season and the event running a straight 150 laps from green to checkers, the strategy at the Geary oval is sure to change.

The month of July will see Tim’s Corner Motorsports at Speedway 660 on three weekends, beginning with the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour 100 on July 6th. The Maritime based tour crosses the halfway point of their season with the 100-lap affair and will play a pivotal role on their journey to crowning a champion this season. The next week, Tim’s Corner Motorsports is back in Geary on July 13th for a Weekly Racing Series show while on July 27th, the Pro Stock boys have their chance to shine once more in the Best of the Best 150, an event which is always a memorable one as the winner will lock themselves into the Auto Value 250 in September.

Speedweekend will close another exciting season at Speedway 660 from Thursday, August 29th to Monday, September 2nd. Tim’s Corner Motorsports will once again provide coverage for the final three days of the biggest stock car weekend in Atlantic Canada, leading off with Saturday‘s $5,000 to win Coastal Blending and Packaging 150 for Sportsman cars. “Mark my words, you will have 55 cars there trying to qualify for that race,” said Sportsman competitor Brent Roy after the announcement of the increased purse in January.

The weekend and season comes to a climax with the Auto Value 250 on Sunday, September 1st. Cassius Clark drove the #13 King Freight Chevrolet to victory lane in a very memorable edition of the 250 in 2012. The event traditionally attracts over 30 of the fastest Pro Stock/Super Late Model type cars from Atlantic Canada, Quebec and New England with $15,000 hanging in the balance for the winner of the race.

Speedweekend concludes with the “crash and bang” action of the Enduro boys and girls hitting the 1/3-mile oval for the Championship Enduro 200 on Monday, September 2nd. Different from traditional stock car racing, contact is encouraged in Enduro racing and requires a different driving style that guided the winning driver to victory lane in the Auto Value 250 the night before.

The local racing season goes green on Saturday, May 19th at Petty International Speedway in River Glade, New Brunswick. Tim’s Corner Motorsports will have blanket coverage of the local racing scene, with over 45 races scheduled in 2013 in addition to the seven events covered in Florida in February. Advertising opportunities are available for the upcoming season by emailing Terry at tim@timscorner.ca.
