Here Comes the Thunder: Tim’s Corner Motorsports Heading to Thunder Valley Speedway (NL) on August 7th

(Wednesday, July 6th – Halifax, NS) – Tim’s Corner Motorsports (TCM) is thrilled to announce that with help through a marketing partnership with Josh Collins Racing and the upcoming Edward Collins Contracting 125 at Eastbound Park, TCM will be making an appearance at Thunder Valley Speedway on August 7th to cover the racing action at the Bishop’s Falls, Newfoundland oval. The Sportsman, Hobby Stock and Bomber divisions will be a part of the card on August 7th.
Thunder Valley Speedway, Newfoundland’s first paved oval facility, opened in 2007 and was purchased by AME Enterprises in 2012. The facility sat silent in 2015 but was brought to life in 2016 through a partnership with AME Enterprises and promoters Brad and Amy Melendy to produce six stock car events at the track throughout the summer. The August 7th event is the third of these events for 2016.
TCM’s coverage of the third event of the Thunder Valley Speedway season is presented by the Edward Collins Contracting 125, taking place at Eastbound Park in Avondale, Newfoundland on Saturday, August 27th. The first edition of the event in 2015 was an exciting affair that featured the ageless Ches Cole of Torbay going to victory lane in the feature race. The race will once again follow the pit party event headlined by the popular band The Navigators. In addition to the extended feature for the NAPA Auto Parts Sportsman division, the racing card will also include point paying events for the Islander RV Bandoleros, Hanlon Realty Legends and Atlantic Dodge Dealers Hobby Stocks. Advance tickets are on sale now at all North Atlantic Orange Stores or at EastboundPark.com.
The drivers will be competing for championship points in not only the chase for a track championship at Thunder Valley Speedway but also in the Islander Cup. Hobby Stock and Sportsman drivers will use their two best finishes at each Thunder Valley Speedway and Eastbound Park for their bid for the Islander Cup. The August 7th race could go a long way in determining a champion in the Islander Cup for 2016.
The August 7th event is extra special to TCM for two reasons. Thunder Valley Speedway will mark the 12th Atlantic Canadian track TCM has covered an event at since its inception in 2012. For TCM owner Tim Terry, Thunder Valley Speedway is the last actively operating paved oval track in Atlantic Canada he has yet to announce an event at.
