Tim’s Corner Motorsports is excited to announce the continuation of a partnership with EIT Race Radios to present the second annual EIT Race Radios Hometown Hero Award. This is the second year of the award after the creation of the program at the beginning of the 2015 season.
EIT Race Radios was established in May 2002 as a supplier of radio communication equipment for motor sports race teams and fans. EIT Race Radios attends race events across the Maritimes every weekend and provides communication assistance and equipment to race teams and track staff as well as radio scanners and headphones for sale or rent to race fans. For a complete product and price list, along with a schedule of events that EIT Race Radios and Brent Rowley will be attending, please visit www.eitgroup.com.
The EIT Race Radios Hometown Hero Award is designed to shine the spotlight on a driver that concentrates on competing at and is loyal to one track throughout the season. While a majority of teams in the region will test the waters at other race tracks in the region, some do not have the resources to do so, whether it be a cost, time or other restraint. The award winner will receive a TCM Best of Maritime Award Banner and product, to be announced at a later date, from EIT Race Radios.
The EIT Race Radios Hometown Hero Award basic nominee criteria is as follows:
- Driver must compete in 75% of their home track’s events.
- Driver must have only competed at one track in the 2016 season. Drivers that visit other tracks throughout the year are ineligible for this award.
- This recipient selected also supports their home track through promotion, whether it is through car displays, social media campaigns or word of mouth, as examples.
In 2015, Richard Atkinson of Geary, New Brunswick was selected as the inaugural winner of the EIT Race Radios Hometown Hero Award. Atkinson, who competes in the Martin’s Home Heating division at Speedway 660, is an ambassador for the track in the Geary woods through his involvement both in the racing community and the area at large. Complete information on Atkinson and the inaugural EIT Race Radios Hometown Hero Award can be found here.
