Josh Collins To Compete Full Time in NASCAR Pinty’s Series for CBRT
Collins to become first Atlantic Canadian driver to run NASCAR Pinty’s Series full-time
Team Release
Newfoundland & Labrador’s Eastbound International Speedway driver Josh Collins, will mark another historical notch in his career with the announcement of joining the full season NASCAR Pinty’s Series that will tour across Canada. Collins performed NASCAR worthy in 2015 with two successful races in Antigonish, NS, and the Final in Fraserville, ON, with Joey McColm’s CBRT racing team. Collins a native of Placentia, NL and a veteran racer at Eastbound International Speedway was the first Newfoundland & Labradorian to compete in a NASCAR touring series.
Collins will team up once again with NASCAR veteran driver Joey McColm, with the start of the season piloting the #25 racecar at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Fraserville, ON, for the Castrol Victoria Day Speedfest Weekend on May 22. Collins sponsored by Dennis Porter Trucking, Edward Collins Contracting, Universal Environmental Inc, and Eastbound International Speedway, is focused on his first ever road course after training with NASCAR Pinty’s driver JF Dumoulin in Mount Tremblant, Quebec this past fall.
McColm will step out of the driver role to become crew chief and general manager for team CBRT, setting the bar high for Collins as he hunts for a NASCAR Championship and the Josten’s Rookie of the Year honors. Collins will be competing against driver Kevin Lacroix of St-Eustache, Quebec for Rookie of the Year.
Josh Collins will be joined by a trio of highly experienced drivers; Kevin Poitras of Toronto, Veteran stock car racer Robin Buck of Campbellville, Ontario, and Mel Shaw of Voorhees, New Jersey, who brings more than 40 years of racing experience to the team.
