Beech Ridge Opener On Deck For PASS North Stars April 30th

Series Release

NAPLES, ME (April 27) – After a long, cold winter of waiting, racing season is back in full swing for New England race fans as the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models and PASS Modifieds prepare for their first trip of 2016 to Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, ME.  The best short trackers in North America will tackle the tough 1/3 mile, semi-banked oval on Saturday afternoon to compete in the Southern Maine Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep 150.

In last year’s event, Bryan Kruczek stormed to the front of the field to claim his first ever PASS North Super Late Model checkered flag.  It was an emotional win which was a long time in coming that the veteran from Newmarket, NH hopes he can repeat on Saturday afternoon.

“Winning at Beech Ridge last year really gave me and my crew a great amount of confidence, especially when we head to the flat tracks,” says Kruczek, driver of the Kruczek’s Garage #00.  “Beech Ridge is a tough place to be consistent at and seems to me to change a lot with the weather and you need to stay ahead of its moody changes.  I thank my crew and Dale Shaw Race Cars for giving me a setup that stays neutral throughout the race.”

While Beech Ridge gives Kruczek and his team a lot of happy memories, so far the start to the 2016 PASS North season has been one they would like to forget.  Mechanical problems took Kruczek out early at Thompson Speedway and a chance for the win at Oxford Plains Speedway last time out was thwarted after contact with another competitor.  Despite all that, Kruczek remains optimistic about his chances to repeat this weekend at Beech Ridge.

“We are definitely not off to a great start this season after having a parts failure at Thompson and the late race deal at Oxford,” said Kruczek.  “I can’t thank my guys enough, though, because I’ve been given really good cars both races.  If not for the misfortune, I think we could have been doing well in points to this point, but my team is ready to rally back and I plan to be standing in victory lane come Saturday with them.”

As is becoming usual for PASS North Super Late Model events, the field will again be stacked for Saturday afternoon’s Southern Maine Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep 150, including former HP Hood Oxford 250 winners, Glen Luce and Ben and Mike Rowe, along with former PASS champions, Johnny Clark, Joey Doiron, and DJ Shaw.  Fellow Maine drivers Jacob Dore, Dave Farrington, Jr., Larry Gelinas, Mike Hopkins, Reid Lanpher, Kelly Moore, David Oliver, Rusty Poland, Adam Polvinen, JT Thurlow, and Bobby Timmons have sent in pre-entries.  New Brunswick’s Matt Matheson is entered along with New Hampshire standouts Derek Griffith and Dan Winter.

All the action gets under way on Friday at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway with rotating practice for all competing divisions from 2 – 6 PM.  On Saturday, practice will begin at 11:30 AM with racing slated to begin at 3 PM for the PASS North Super Late Models, PASS Modifieds, and Legends.
