Flemming Motorsports Loses Cars, Tools in Overnight Fire

UPDATE 03/22: Also lost in the shop fire was JP Arsenault’s Sportsman car. Arsenault is the 2011 Scotia Speedworld Truck champion and ran races with his car at Scotia Speedworld and Lake Doucette Motor Speedway in 2015. Arsenault is a crew member of Flemming Motorsports.
(03/21) – A fire overnight at the Flemming Motorsports race shop has resulted in the loss of two of the team’s race cars and gear. There were no injuries in the fire.
While the cause of the fire is unknown, DJ Casey confirmed the fire at the shop on his Casey Racing Facebook page on Monday. Their race gear and tools were lost in the fire, along with two cars – John Flemming’s Port City car he ran last year on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and the team’s NASCAR Pinty’s Series car. The car Casey ran last year to a Rookie of the Year championship was receiving repairs as the team is rebuilding the car following a crash at Petty Raceway last season and was not in the shop at the time.
Casey is slated to take over the #97 car from five time Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour champion John Flemming in 2016.
We’ll have more as it becomes available.
