Series Returns to Speedway 660, Finale Set for September at Scotia Speedworld

(Dartmouth, NS – Thursday, March 17th) – The Atlantic Tiltload Maritime League of Legends Tour is excited to announce their 2016 schedule of events. The 2016 schedule features eight races between five race tracks which span all three Maritime provinces. The only touring series for Legend cars in Atlantic Canada will be a part of some of the biggest stock car racing shows, racing in front of the biggest crowds in the region throughout the year.

The season will open on Saturday, May 21st at Scotia Speedworld, adjacent to the Halifax International Airport in Enfield, Nova Scotia. Scotia Speedworld will host three of the seven races this season, including the fourth event on Saturday, August 13th and the season finale on Saturday, September 17th. All three Scotia Speedworld events will run on the same day as Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour feature events. Riverside International Speedway in James River, Nova Scotia will host two Atlantic Tiltload Maritime League of Legends Tour races, the first on IWK 250 weekend on Friday, July 15th with the second race taking place on NASCAR Pinty’s Series weekend on Saturday, August 20th.

The Atlantic Tiltload Maritime League of Legends Tour will return for a second straight year to Prince Edward Island’s Oyster Bed Speedway on Saturday, July 30th. The 2015 edition of the race, won by then rookie Cory Hall (Jolicure, NB), was popular with fans and drivers alike and will once again be paired with the only stop on Prince Edward Island by the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. The two touring series will also be together when they head to Petty International Raceway on Saturday, August 27th. The card is the headlining act for the 52nd Jones Auto Body River Glade International event.

The newest addition to the Atlantic Tiltload Maritime League of Legends Tour schedule is a stop at Geary, New Brunswick’s Speedway 660 on Saturday, September 3rd. The date at Speedway 660 will mark the first time in over five years that the series has visited the “Geary woods,” which will be a part of Speedweekend 2016. The race will play a critical role in crowning a champion on the series as the penultimate event on the season.

All feature races for the Atlantic Tiltload Maritime League of Legends Tour are 50-laps in length.

Last season, Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) edged out his first Atlantic Tiltload Maritime League of Legends Tour championship over multi-time series titlist Justin MacNeill (Bedford, NS) and two-time INEX Canadian East Masters division champion Paul Goulden (Shelburne, NS). With familiar names and new faces expected to take the green flag in 2016, fans are in for exciting racing from May to September.

Sponsorship announcements and up-to-date news and information will be released as the season draws near. For complete information on the Atlantic Tiltload Maritime League of Legends Tour, fans and teams are encouraged to bookmark MaritimeLegends.ca.
