The 2015 TCM Holiday Gift Guide

While one racing season has completed and one is just around the corner, another big season is sandwiched between the both.

The holidays are coming up and with it comes the gift giving season. Maybe you are looking for something for that “hard to buy for race fan” or a thank you gift for your season long crew members, look no further than some of our advertising partners here at Tim’s Corner Motorsports.

Here are a few ideas to consider as you wrap up your December shopping trips.

Something Unique from Finish Line Vinyl Design

Sure, one of our major partners at Tim’s Corner Motorsports, Finish Line Vinyl Design, is well known for laying vinyl on some of the sharpest looking race cars in Atlantic Canada, but Kirk Alexander has more than just that up his sleeve.

In addition to race car decals, Kirk can make custom decals for the hard to buy for person on your list. If decals are not your thing, what about custom t-shirts, a sign, banner or maybe a canvas wrap print? No design? No problem! Kirk can see any project from start to finish, from design to production.

If you have something in mind, don’t hesitate to give Kirk Alexander a shout via the Finish Line Vinyl Design Facebook page, or give Finish Line Vinyl Design a call at (902) 405-0225.

St Louis Bar and Grill Moncton or Boston Pizza Antigonish Gift Certificates

If you are like Tim, you love the gift of great food. Wherever you go in the Maritimes, you can be assured there are great places to stop and have a bite to eat on the way to and from the track. Tim’s Corner Motorsports is lucky enough to have partnered with two of the best – St. Louis Bar and Grill in Moncton, NB and Boston Pizza Antigonish.

St. Louis Bar and Grill offers up some of the best food you’ll find in the city of Moncton within a great atmosphere. Located at 1405 Mountain Road, it is a short drive into the city when traveling by Moncton on the Trans Canada Highway and is only one exit down from the Moncton Coliseum, home of Castrol Radical Speedsport in April. St. Louis Bar and Grill offers a wide array of mouth watering selections with something for everyone from wings, ribs, burgers, quesadillas, a full appetizer menu and much, much more.   Tim’s favorite from the 2015 season was the Garlic Dill Burger and you cannot go wrong with Bacon Wrapped Mac ‘n Cheese or Deep Fried Pickles to start!

A little over two and a half hours away from Moncton and a short drive from Riverside International Speedway sits Boston Pizza Antigonish, nestled in the town of Antigonish at 135 Church Street, Offering a full Boston Pizza menu, there is no wrong selection to feed your hunger, from pizza to wings and everything in between. Don’t forget to mark on your calendar the annual Boston Pizza Tailgate Party, which typically happens on the Thursday prior to the IWK 250 (expected date in 2016 is July 14th) and remember, Boston Pizza Antigonish delivers to Riverside International Speedway!

The best thing about supporting St Louis Bar and Grill Moncton and Boston Pizza Antigonish? Owners Keith Mackintosh and Bill Beaton are race fans and they understand the sport! When you stop in, be sure to say hi and thank them for their support of racing in the Maritimes.

EIT Race Radios can get you into the minds of teams with a scanner to listen to all the action throughout a Pro Stock or most Sportsman races within the region. Maple Leaf Monster Jam Tour Tickets and Castrol Radical Speedsport Tickets

Two of our partners from 2015 have tickets on sale for events in the 2016 season.

Before we know it, it will be time for the 42nd Annual Castrol Radical Speedsport, held this year from Friday, April 15th to Sunday, April 17th at the Moncton Coliseum in Moncton, New Brunswick. Traditionally, this is the unofficial kick off of the racing season for most as it is the first time most get together to preview the upcoming season.

Racing is a small portion of the major motorsports expo. With the show being ISCA (International Show Car Association) sanctioned, show goers are expected to see some of the best cars of any show in the region this spring. Special guests also frequent the show and while attractions for 2016 have not been announced, previous years have included Booker T and Peyton List (2015), Richard Petty and Honky Tonk Man (2014).

You can get advance tickets for Speedsport here: Speedsport Tickets.

The biggest Monster Truck show in Atlantic Canada will be roaring into town on Saturday, May 28th and Sunday, May 29th as the Maple Leaf Monster Jam Tour returns to Scotia Speedworld.

Monster Jam has been coming to Halifax since 2003 and 2016 will be the 14th straight year the Tour has visited Scotia Speedworld. In 2015, eight trucks, the biggest field brought to Halifax, graced the facility which included names like Grave Digger and Northern Nightmare.

The Maple Leaf Monster Jam Tour will put three shows on in 2016, two on Saturday and one Sunday afternoon. Both the afternoon shows include a Monster Jam Party in the Pits from 10:30am to Noon with the show beginning at 1pm. Saturday evening’s show will get underway at 7pm.

Show and Party in the Pits tickets are on sale now through all Ticket Atlantic locations now. While the shows are general admission, you might want to purchase tickets early to not only save money on advance tickets but to also assure a seat at Scotia Speedworld in May, because shows have sold out in the past.

If you are a stock car fan and you’ve never been to a Monster Jam show live, you owe yourself to head to Ticket Atlantic now and pick up a ticket. Trust us when we say you’ll quickly become a Monster Jam fan!

Show information can be found by visiting MonsterJam.com!

A can of Dulux Paint

Are renovations on your list for 2016? Get a head start with products from Dulux Paints in Bayers Lake.

You’ll hear it at the track and from teams to support those who support the sport. Dulux Paints Bayers Lake is a prime example of one of those companies that supports stock car racing through track involvement, team involvement with race car sponsorships and, of course, through Tim’s Corner Motorsports and our coverage.

A big thanks to Craig McFetridge for his support of Tim’s Corner Motorsports and for all he and Dulux Paints Bayers Lake do for the sport in the Maritimes, and remember to make Dulux Paints in the Bayers Lake Industrial Park in Halifax your destination for all your paint needs in 2016.

McCarthy Photographic Calendar, Photos and Prints

Some of the most visible images of Maritime stock car racing are seen through the lens of Mike McCarthy and McCarthy Photographic.

On the track, McCarthy Photographic is the official photographer of the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and Scotia Speedworld. Those photos that he takes, found at McCarthyPhotographic.com, can be ordered as digital copies or prints but can also be applied to plaques, license plates and other gift ideas for the race fan on your list. For a full list of what McCarthy Photographic can create for you, contact Mike through his website.
