Smith is the only NASCAR challenger to win the IWK 250.
More than 800 recreational vehicles converge on the grounds of Riverside International Speedway, arriving days beforehand so their owners can enjoy watching the event unfold as the week progresses. More than 15,000 fans historically pass through the gates over the weekend which also sees contests, autographs sessions, and entertainment.
Kent Vincent (Crapaud, PE) is the defending champion of the IWK 250, joining John Flemming (Halifax) as the only two-time winners in the modern era of the event. The IWK 250 has a storied history being known for more than three decades as the Riverside 250 and boasting a champion list featuring the best-known racers in Canada; in 2007 it was rebranded the IWK 250 and since then has raised awareness and more than $300,000 for the IWK Foundation.
