Jarrett Butcher Races to First Atlantic Tiltload Maritime League of Legends Tour Championship
Series Release
Cole Butcher defends R&D Performancentre Road Course Challenge at Atlantic Motorsports Park
(Sunday, October 11, 2015 – North Salem, NS) – The Butcher Racing team closed out the Atlantic Tiltload Maritime League of Legends Tour season in a big way, with both brothers standing tall in victory lane at the end of the R&D Performancentre Road Course Challenge at Atlantic Motorsports Park.
Older brother Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) made a mid-race pass on Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) and held off the #53 car to clinch a Butcher Racing 1-2 finish in the season finale for the series. Jarrett Butcher, who won the 10-lap heat race for the event, clinched the 2015 Atlantic Tiltload Maritime League of Legends Tour championship. The championship is his first with the series after winning three of the seven races on the season.
Behind the Butcher brothers, Emily Meehan (Rawdon Gold Mines, NS) made a last lap pass on multi-time series champion Justin MacNeill (Bedford, NS) and made it stick to take the third place spot by inches. MacNeill, who passed Meehan on the last lap at Riverside International Speedway in the Cummins 50 for a podium finish, had to settle for fourth at Atlantic Motorsports Park. Adam Meehan (Rawdon Gold Mines, NS), finished fifth in the R&D Performancentre Road Course Challenge en route to the Rookie of the Year title on the Atlantic Tiltload Maritime League of Legends Tour in 2015.
The R&D Performancentre Road Course Challenge was run without a full course caution in the 15-lap race and took 21 minutes to complete. Twelve cars started the season finale at the 1.6-mile, 11 turn road course.
