Quick Results – Day One – Atlantic Championships

Racin’ Remi Gaudet was the only car not to pit during the Atlantic Championships Sportsman 125 and held off a late charge by Josh Collins to take his third consecutive win in the prestigious October event at the CENTRE For Speed outside of Shediac, NB on Saturday.

Gaudet and Collins swapped the lead for the final time with less than 20 to go before Collins faded in the late laps. Cory Collins, who had not raced in over two years, finished third as he held off Aaron Boutilier.

JR Lawson used a late restart with 11 to go to get by Dave Matthews to secure his second straight Atlantic Championship for Mini Stocks. Lawson, Matthews, third place driver Tim Webster and fourth place driver Brad Hayes put on an incredible show all race long. Lawson, the eventual winner, had to come from the rear of the field once and from sixth under green a second time when he got into contact with a lapped car.

“Mister Maritime Hustle” Matt Crocker won his second consecutive Atlantic Championships for Four Funs as he outran Scott Thibodeau late in their 40-lap feature. Richie Moore, driving for Jamie Dillman, and Brody Levesque were the only four cars that finished on the lead lap in the race.

Matt Watson completed a clean sweep of the Eastern Super Mini Cup Series season by winning their season finale 20-lap feature over Chris Wilson and Courtney O’Blenis, both former Mini Cup feature winners at the track.

Full results will be released when available from the track.
